Nightguards & Sports Guards

Custom appliances that protect your teeth from grinding at night and impact on the field — comfortable enough that you'll actually wear them.

About the treatment

A thin piece of plastic that saves you thousands.

If you grind or clench your teeth at night — and most people who do, don't realise it — you're slowly wearing down enamel that can never grow back. The damage shows up years later as cracked teeth, jaw pain, sensitivity and gum recession. A custom nightguard stops that cycle.

If you (or your kids) play hockey, football, rugby, lacrosse or any contact sport, a custom sports guard absorbs impact that would otherwise be transferred straight into your teeth and jaw. They fit so much better than the boil-and-bite versions from the drugstore that you'll forget you're wearing one.

Both are made from impressions of your specific teeth, so they fit snugly and stay put without you having to think about them.

The process

How we make your custom guard

01

Quick exam

We check for signs of grinding (worn cusps, jaw soreness, headaches) and recommend the right guard for your specific bite and goals.

02

Digital impressions

No goopy trays. We scan your teeth in a few minutes with a digital scanner — fast, accurate, comfortable.

03

Custom fabrication

Your guard is made in a dental lab from medical-grade material to fit your teeth precisely. Turnaround is typically 1–2 weeks.

04

Fitting & adjustments

We seat your guard, check the bite, and fine-tune anything that doesn't feel just right. You leave with a guard that fits like it was made for you — because it was.

Frequently asked

Your questions, answered.

How do I know if I grind my teeth at night?

Common signs: waking up with a sore jaw, morning headaches, sensitive teeth, or a partner who hears it. We can also spot the wear pattern on your teeth during a check-up.

Aren't drugstore guards good enough?

They're better than nothing, but boil-and-bite guards are bulky, often loose, and many people stop wearing them. Custom guards are thinner, better fitting, and far more durable.

How long does a nightguard last?

With normal use and proper care, expect 3–5 years for a nightguard and 1–2 seasons for a sports guard, depending on how hard you grind or play.

Are these covered by insurance?

Most major plans cover a portion of custom guards, especially when there's documented grinding. We'll confirm coverage before fabrication.
